1.5 Degree Climate Target: Dead or Alive?!

Did the United Nations really declare that limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees is impossible? And if so, is this true? What does it mean for climate change if we overshoot this crucial target, and what do we have to do now if we have missed it? Is it time to give up?

I saw that 'article'. Content aside, it was an ad for a twitter alternative. I posted as such. Was that removed? Actions like that define the quality and depth of the site, and such response would be most unfortunate.
