Norwegian translation of The Scientific Guide to Global Warming Skepticism

Posted on 2 February 2011 by John Cook

Norwegian translation of Scientific Guide to Global Warming Skepticism The Scientific Guide to Global Warming Skepticism has been translated into Norwegian. Many thanks to Bjarne Mikael Torkveen for the translation and his meticulous eye in uncovering for every single missing em dash and CO2 subscript.

If anyone is interested in translating the Guide into another language, there are two documents to help you: a two-column Word document with all the English text in one column and a blank column to place the translated text, plus a PDF Overview of the Guide to clearly mark each section for translators.

Please download the Word document and email me back the document with translated text. I'll then insert the translated text into the existing design. But best first to contact me to ensure noone else is already working on your language (versions in Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, Slovene and Swedish are currently in the works).

Response: This is what happens when you blog before your morning coffee :-( All fixed, thanks for the tip.
  2. John I only noticed cause I went to email it to one of my norwegian friends (so she could make fun of me for being a climate nerd of course) and I noticed it was in spanish lol

  4. Most excellent! Even though most Norwegians have a decent grasp of English, having a technical document like this written in Norwegian certainly helps. Climate change denial has grown at a tremendous rate over the past two years, due to a couple of cold winters and the MSM, like major newspaper Aftenposten, almost exclusively relying on deniers for comments on climate issues.

  5. Fantastisk! (Fantastic!) The whole document is so nice and perfect for presenting to actually anyone. I've must send my congratulations to Bjarne Mikael Torkveen, which have done a really good job. Great Bjarne! :-) It could be nice to have his Email to contact him of minor changes which I might spot... The first one I've spotted is "en blått kirseærtre" which should been spelled: "et blått kirsebærtre".

  6. Thanks for the nice comments. Sorry about the small typo. Tunnel vision, I guess.
